Interesting night after work. I come home and fire up Rox Box only to be greeted by a huge growling/grinding noise. Like a drive or a fan was fucked up. Very unpleasant. It did however appear to be booting just fine. And by just fine I mean get to the login screen and restart. Opened up the case to find said grinding noise wasn't actually a fan or drive, but an unused plug that was laying up against the fan and rattling around. So that was an easy fix.
But the restarting shit was a show-stopper. So Drew and I dropped 2003 Server Edition on that bitch and boy howdy did the sky part. Installed smooth and shit and runs as solid as a rock. Within 10 minutes I reinstalled everything I spent all night fighting to get on the old box. And as a side bonus, 2003 recognizes the monitor so now I'm enjoying the full screen. NICE
Am still throwing all the plugins on it. But so far...big ups to 2003 and big downs to XP.
UPDATE: Okay, shit is all installed and I've recorded a few things. Finally to where I can "work" (and by work I mean fuck off). Now onto more important things like buying a bass....
