Came home last night (or this morning as the case is) and I'd left my laptop and ipod (which was connected) on the bed. I went to put 'em on the floor (cos where else would it go) only to take the ipod and put on top of my entertainment center. I noticed it said "No Songs Found" to which I thought to myself "Gee self, that's funny, because I coulda sworn there was around 30gigs of music on there". Upon further inspection I noticed that it didn't see any videos either (even though there are around 50 gigs of vids on there). Despite this, the "About" tab still showed that there was in fact data on the thing.

In short, this marks my first ipod problem. I had to upgrade the firmware and all that shit. Luckily I had all the music backed up (but not the vids, which served their purpose anyway). itunes decided I couldn't transfer a few Johnny Cash songs because I didn't "have the rights to them" (funny how commerce works, I thought when I bought American IV CD, I was buying the right to listen to the fucking songs on it). So basically by playing by the rules I fucked myself out of those songs? Is that correct? Thanks for that valuable lesson American Music Industry!

So this morning all 5000+ songs got transfered back to my reformatted ipod. I still have to get all the Thievery Corps stuff from Drew since, well, he's who I got it from. And I'm not about to work in the cubicle farm that is the office @ 225 Michigan Ave and not have me some Thievery Corps to go with my coffee. That'd just be downright crazy.

This is the first time something like this happened to me out of the 3 ipods I have. So I guess I'm not doing too bad...but fuck its a pain in the ass.

On an aside...it's 50+ degrees supposedly, there's no snow on the ground, and I'm not mountain biking. What the fuck is wrong with me?
