Thought Sausage

Just when I thought Kozy's couldn't possibly do anything dumber than last week, boy oh boy did they fucking rise to the challenge today.

Unfortunately I had to go back to Kozy's on Erie and Franklin this afternoon to get a cable lock for the new mountain bike (it'll reside in a locked bike storage room, never to be used on the street. Not to mention building security gets pissy about people not locking their bikes up in there). I like this because there's an added bonus of being able to tether up to my car when tehy are on the rack.

Anyway, I go in and grab one and take it up to the counter. The guy says "Is this for a bike" I say "yeah" and he smiles and sort of laughs to himself and goes "Is it for a bike you like?" to which I reply "actually it's only going to be used in a locked bike room" and he starts to talk about how bikes locked up with cables get stolen all the time and I interrupt and say "naw really I'm fine with this, its more to appease the building than anything". He sorta mumbles and starts to ring the lock up and then when he hands me the receipt he grabs his card and says "Here's my card, when your bike gets stolen let me know and I'll sell you a new bike" and flashes me this dumbass "you'll be back" smile.

Fuckin' dipshit.

I submit the following:

A.I actually stopped using U-locks for my commuter bike because they get jammed up after being rained or snowed on way faster than cable/enclosed locks.

B. I own 5 bikes. One of which is ever parked on the street and I take precautions but not even a tire has been stolen from it

C. In the event I do purchase another bike, you can rest assured that not only will it not be coming from Kozy's, but Andrew Combe the "bicycle sales associate extradorinare" most definitely won't be the fellow who sells it to me.

Jesus Aitch Christ can't a fucking other bike store come to River North? Get a Grip is just out of reach. Seriously, I will spend thousands of dollars in your store. Just keep me from having to deal with these idiots at Kozy's.
